The Drifter Oil Wax Leather Band

What this strap is

The Drifter is a leather watch band made from oil wax leather. That finish gives the surface a soft sheen and a lived-in look that deepens as the strap ages. The leather stays supple against the wrist, so it wears comfortably from the first day.

A butterfly buckle closes the strap. The two halves fold together and sit flat under the wrist, which keeps the profile low and tidy. Quick release spring bars come included and are already fitted, so you can swap the strap without a tool.

This is a strap for traditional watches. It fits any watch with a lug width that matches the size you choose.

Sizes

Measure your watch lug width before you order. The strap size must match it exactly.

To measure, use a ruler or caliper between the inner edges of the two lugs where the spring bar sits. If you are between sizes, check the watch spec sheet. A strap that is 1 mm off will not seat correctly.

Colors

Nine colorways are available:

• Black
• Blue
• Light brown
• Green
• Dark brown
• Red
• Army green
• Dark blue
• Yellow brown

The browns and yellow brown read as classic leather. Black and dark blue stay understated. Green, army green and red add a quieter accent that still works with most dials.

Fitting and use

1. Match the strap size to your watch lug width.
2. Pull the quick release pin back on each side of the strap.
3. Slot the spring bar into the lug holes and release the pin.
4. Tug gently to confirm the strap is seated.
5. Fasten the butterfly buckle and check the fit on your wrist.

The quick release bars mean no spring bar tool is needed for a swap. Keep a small tool on hand anyway if you like to change straps often, since the bars can be replaced if they wear out.

Oil wax leather takes on marks and creases as it bends. That is normal and part of how the material looks over time. The strap works well on field watches, dress watches and everyday pieces with a traditional case.

Care

Wipe the strap clean with a soft, dry cloth. Keep it away from water. Do not soak it, swim with it or wear it in the shower. If the leather gets damp, blot it dry and let it air out away from direct heat.

Avoid prolonged sun exposure and harsh cleaners. A light wipe now and then is enough to keep the surface looking even.
