What it is

The Leather Strap is a watch band cut from leather, finished with a steel pin buckle. The leather gives it a soft hand and a look that works on a dress watch, a field watch or a daily wearer. The pin buckle keeps the closure simple: you thread the strap, set the hole and go.

This is a straightforward band. No adapters, no tools built in, no extra pieces to keep track of. It mounts the way most watch bands mount, with spring bars at the lugs.

Sizes

Lug width is the measurement that matters most. Measure the distance between your watch's lugs, in millimeters, then choose the matching size.

Lug width Common case size it suits
12 mm Small dress watches
14 mm Small dress watches
16 mm Slim vintage cases
18 mm Mid-size cases
20 mm Many dive and field cases
22 mm Larger field and dive cases
24 mm Oversized cases

If your measurement falls between two sizes, go with the smaller one only if the lugs truly measure smaller. A band that is too wide will not sit flush. A band that is too narrow will slide and leave a gap.

Colors

Seven colors are available: black, brown, blue, red, white and pink. Black and brown are the quiet choices and pair with almost any dial. Blue works well against white or silver dials. Red, white and pink give you a brighter look for casual wear or a second band you swap in on weekends.

Because the buckle is steel, it reads as a neutral metal against every color in the range.

Fitting and use

To fit the band, remove your current strap, keep the spring bars, and seat the new band between the lugs. Press each spring bar into the lug holes until it clicks. Give the band a gentle tug to confirm both ends are seated before you wear the watch.

When you put the watch on, choose the hole that gives you a snug fit with room to slide one finger under the band. Leather relaxes slightly with wear, so a fit that is just snug at first tends to settle in well.

A pin buckle means there is nothing to fold or tuck beyond the tail. Thread the tail through the keeper after the buckle and it stays put.

Care

Leather responds well to a little attention. Wipe the band with a dry cloth after wear to remove skin oils and dust. Keep it away from standing water, soap and long exposure to direct sun. If the band gets damp, let it air dry at room temperature, away from a radiator or hair dryer.

Rotating between two bands is the simplest way to extend the life of both. Store the watch flat or on a cushion when it is not on your wrist.

Before you order

Check two things: your lug width in millimeters and your color choice. Those are the only two options on this page. Everything else about the band is fixed: leather material, steel pin buckle, and the size range listed above.

If you are replacing a band on a watch you wear often, ordering a second color at the same time gives you a spare without a second trip to the site.

Questions

How do I know which size to order?

Measure the distance between your watch's lugs in millimeters. Choose the size that matches: 12 mm, 14 mm, 16 mm, 18 mm, 20 mm, 22 mm or 24 mm. The band should sit flush between the lugs with no gap.

What colors does this leather watch band come in?

It comes in black, brown, blue, red, white and pink. Black and brown are the most versatile. The brighter colors work well as a second band for casual wear.

What kind of buckle does it have?

It has a steel pin buckle. You thread the strap through the buckle, set the hole and tuck the tail through the keeper.

Can I wear this band in water?

It is a leather band, so keep it away from standing water, soap and long sun exposure. If it gets damp, let it air dry at room temperature.
