The Current Silicone Band

What it is

The Current Silicone Band is a watch strap made of silicone with a metal buckle. The material is soft and smooth against the wrist, and it holds its shape without feeling stiff. The buckle is a silver-tone pin buckle, so the band fastens the same way as a traditional strap.

This is a universal band, not a model-specific one. It fits watches with 20 mm or 22 mm lugs, including the P22, the P8 and many other watches that use those widths. Spring bars are included, so you can mount the band as soon as it arrives.

How to fit it

1. Remove the old band. Use a spring bar tool to compress the spring bar and lift the band away from the lugs.
2. Check the lug width. Confirm your watch takes 20 mm or 22 mm before you install the new band.
3. Insert the spring bars. Slide a spring bar through the band's end and seat one side into a lug.
4. Compress and click. Press the other side of the spring bar into the opposite lug until it clicks into place.
5. Test the hold. Give the band a gentle tug to make sure both ends are secure.
6. Fasten the buckle. Thread the tail through the pin buckle and set it at a comfortable hole.

Care

Wipe the band clean with a soft, damp cloth and mild soap, then dry it with a towel. Keep it away from water, including pools, showers and the ocean, and do not soak it. Silicone can pick up lint and dust, so a quick wipe now and then keeps it looking neat. Avoid harsh chemicals, sunscreen buildup and long exposure to direct sun. Store your watch on a stand or in a watch box when you are not wearing it.
