What the Ridge is

The Ridge is a Milanese loop for your Garmin: a fine, flexible mesh woven from stainless steel, ending in a flat magnetic clasp. You wrap the mesh around your wrist and lay the clasp on it. The magnet grips the mesh at any point, so the fit is set by feel rather than by a row of holes.

It comes in two finishes. Black has a black clasp and suits a dark Fenix or Epix case. Silver has a matching silver clasp and sits well next to a steel or titanium bezel. Both attach with QuickFit connectors that click into the lugs by hand.

Steel mesh is the dressier side of a Garmin: a watch built for the trail that you can also wear with a shirt and jacket. For long runs, hikes and races, a silicone or nylon band is lighter and easier to rinse, and with QuickFit, swapping between the two takes seconds.

Which Garmin watches it fits

The Ridge comes in two QuickFit sizes. Black comes in both; Silver comes in QuickFit 22 only.

  • QuickFit 22 fits the Fenix 9 47 mm, Fenix 8 47 mm, Fenix E, Fenix 7 and 7 Pro, Fenix 6 and 6 Pro, Fenix 5 and 5 Plus, Epix (Gen 2), Epix Pro 47 mm, and the Forerunner 935, 945, 955, 965 and 970.
  • QuickFit 26 fits the Fenix 9 51 mm, Fenix 8 51 mm, Fenix 7X and 7X Pro, Fenix 6X and 6X Pro, Fenix 5X and 5X Plus, Enduro 2 and Enduro 3, Tactix 7 and the Epix Pro 51 mm.

Do not fit the Ridge to a Fenix 8 Pro, Fenix 9 Pro, Quatix 8 Pro or D2 Mach 2 Pro. Garmin warns that metal bands, and bands with metal parts near the case, can interfere with satellite, GPS, Bluetooth and LTE signals on those watches. The small 42 mm and 43 mm cases, such as the Fenix 8 43 mm and the Fenix 7S, take QuickFit 20, which the Ridge does not come in.

If you are unsure of your size, look at the back of your current Garmin band, where the QuickFit size is printed, or see our fit guide.

How to size and fit it

There is nothing to size in advance: the magnetic clasp holds at any point along the mesh, so you set the fit each time you put it on. Close it snug enough that the watch does not slide over your wrist bone, which also keeps the sensors on the back of the watch in contact with your skin. The mesh is not extra long, so it suits small and medium wrists best. To take the watch off, lift the clasp away from the mesh and open the band.

To fit it, slide the latch on your old band's QuickFit connector and lift the band off the watch. Line up each Ridge connector with the lugs and press it into place until the latch closes over the pin on the watch, then give the band a firm tug to check it is secure. To take it off again, slide the latch and lift. Go by the case size of your watch, not only the model name: the Fenix 8, for example, comes in 43, 47 and 51 mm cases, and each one takes a different QuickFit size.

Care

Wipe the mesh with a soft damp cloth after wearing it, and dry it well after sweat, sunscreen or salt water. For a deeper clean, use a soft toothbrush and a drop of mild soap, rinse in fresh water and pat it dry with a towel. Keep anything abrasive away from the black finish, and take the band off for rock scrambles and the gym, where the mesh can catch on rough edges. The magnet also picks up tiny steel particles, such as dark beach sand or workshop dust, so wipe the clasp with a dry cloth when you see them.

Delivery and returns

Delivery is $6.95, or free on orders over $49. The delivery time for your country shows on each product page and at checkout.

Questions

Which Ridge size fits a Fenix 7?

The Fenix 7 and 7 Pro take QuickFit 22, and the Fenix 7X and 7X Pro take QuickFit 26. The Fenix 7S uses QuickFit 20, which the Ridge does not come in.

Can I use it on a Fenix 8 Pro?

We do not recommend it. Garmin warns that metal bands can interfere with satellite, GPS and LTE signals on the Fenix 8 Pro, Fenix 9 Pro, Quatix 8 Pro and D2 Mach 2 Pro, and asks owners to use its own non-metal bands.

Is the magnetic clasp secure enough for workouts?

The magnet holds the mesh firmly for everyday wear. For hard training, trail runs and the gym we suggest one of our silicone or nylon Garmin bands, which are lighter and easier to rinse.

Does it fit the Forerunner 965?

Yes. The Forerunner 965 takes QuickFit 22, as do the Forerunner 935, 945, 955 and 970. Choose QuickFit 22 under Fit, in Black or Silver.
