The Spring Bar Kit is a sorted assortment of stainless steel spring bars for attaching watch bands and straps to a watch case. Spring bars are the small pins that sit between the lugs, and they wear out, bend or go missing over time. Keeping a range on hand means you can swap a strap the same day instead of waiting on a single replacement.
Every bar in this kit is stainless steel. The assortment covers the sizes most commonly needed for band changes and general watch repair work.
Two diameter options are available. Pick the diameter that matches your watch case and band, then use the length range to find the right fit for your lug width.
| Diameter | Pieces | Length range | Fits |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1.5 mm | 360 pieces | 8 to 25 mm | Bands and straps with 8 to 25 mm lug widths |
| 1.8 mm | 270 pieces | 8 to 25 mm | Bands and straps with 8 to 25 mm lug widths |
The 1.5 mm set gives you more pieces across the same length range. The 1.8 mm set uses a thicker bar, which some shoppers prefer for heavier bands and larger cases. Both sets span 8 to 25 mm, so most standard lug widths fall inside the range.
Measure your lug width first. That is the gap between the two lugs on your watch case, and it is the number you match to the bar length. A bar that is too short will not stay seated. A bar that is too long will not compress into the lugs.
Next, check the diameter your case accepts. If your current bars are 1.5 mm, stay with 1.5 mm. If they are 1.8 mm, stay with 1.8 mm. The wrong diameter can feel loose in the lug holes or refuse to seat at all.
Sort the kit by length once it arrives. Grouping the bars makes future band changes faster, and you will see at a glance which lengths you reach for most.
Spring bars install by compressing the bar so it fits between the lugs, then releasing it into the lug holes. A spring bar tool makes this easier, since the forked tip can catch the flange on the bar and compress it without scratching the case.
To remove a band, slide the tool between the band and the lug, hook the bar flange and pull inward. The bar compresses and drops free. To install, seat one end in a lug hole, compress the other end and guide it into the opposite hole. Tug gently on the band to confirm both ends are seated before you wear the watch.
This kit pairs well with a link removal tool if you also adjust bracelet length. Keep both in the same drawer so a full band change takes minutes.
Wipe the bars clean with a dry cloth before storing them. Keep the kit away from water. Moisture can lead to corrosion over time, which weakens the bar and can cause it to fail while worn.
Store the assortment in a dry spot, ideally in a divided box or a small parts tray so the lengths stay separated. If you live in a humid climate, a sealed container with a desiccant pack helps keep the bars dry between uses.
Inspect bars before each install. If a bar looks bent, pitted or does not spring back cleanly, set it aside and use a fresh one. Spring bars are small and inexpensive, and a worn bar is not worth the risk to your watch.
The bars run from 8 to 25 mm in length. You can choose a 1.5 mm diameter set with 360 pieces or a 1.8 mm diameter set with 270 pieces.
They fit watch bands and straps with 8 to 25 mm lug widths. Measure the gap between your watch lugs and match it to the bar length.
Check the bars currently in your watch. If they are 1.5 mm, choose the 1.5 mm set. If they are 1.8 mm, choose the 1.8 mm set so the bar seats correctly in the lug holes.
Wipe them clean and keep them away from water. Store the kit dry, ideally with the lengths separated so you can find the size you need quickly.
